Can i get messed up on naproxen

Did you have the same problems as me then. I am actually no longer taking any medication not even the peptac as I seem to be able to manage the acid in my stomach quite well. How long did you experience stomach problems for? And what did you do to overcome them? My idea is to just follow a gastritis diet now for a few more weeks and then gradually start adding in more foods.

I think high sugar foods have been the worst triggers for me so far. I mean I needed to loose a few lbs anyway. But this was not what I had in mind. Thank you for your reply. Slight tinge in my back and achey all over again.

I think I might just stick with having a banana for breakfast in future. This is crazy. How on earth can two pills mess up your stomach so badly that you feel so un well. I have spinal stenosis and took lots of anti inflammatorys for pain, they caused havoc with the lining of my tummy I was on omeprazole for a long time, gaviscon liquid too. I now have gallbladder problems and stones, lost two stone in weight. Oh god sue that sounds awful. Not to sure why they need to check this?

How are you getting on now with everything? I have to be honest. That just added to the problem. I just keep trying to think positive. So just need to see the positives in this huge lifestyle change and embrace it.

Hope david Ah David that sounds awful. I am still waiting for test results but am heading back to the doctors for stress and anxiety which I think has been adding to this problem. Worried that antidepressants might be my only option going forward. I thought that the pain was responsible for my sleepless nights, but this wasnt the case.

When I complained about this to my doctor he told me that Naproxen could be causing me to lose sleep. This isnt very usual, but it can happen. Apparently, insomnia is one of the very rare side effects of Naproxen.

The doctor immediately prescribed me with another drug for the pain and soon enough my troubles were over. You should talk to your doctor about changing from Naproxen to another drug.

Guest over a year ago I've got the insomnia bug as well. Drug works great but i can't sleep. Guest over a year ago Yeah, me too. Years ago when I was Marathoning Now, with my old age legs bothering me, I started taking Naproxen Aleve again, and I don't get that strange feeling, and so I started taking two or three pills at a time.

Yes, I lie in bed and wait hours to fall asleep. I used to be one of those "head hit the pillow" kind of guys. Oh, and in those higher doses, yes, that funny half-sick and strange feeling in the head 'thing' come back. Yes, Naproxen seems to work, but I would use it in recommended doses and only in the Morning, and not at all if you are accustomed to taking afternoon naps. I wish I could tell you for absolutely certain, but this is the first day that I decided that Naproxen was my problem.

I am holding my breath and hoping that I will be able to simply fall asleep tonight. Guest over a year ago I took this drug naproxen and I noticed for 2 nights I loss sleep. Naproxen is the culprit!!!!! I guess no pain no gain.

It works by inhibiting the enzyme known as COX This enzyme is responsible for the "pain" that you feel.

Naproxen also belongs to the same family, but it works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. Opiates however, inhibit pain by activating the opiate receptors in the brain, which leads to an increase in endorphins what makes you feel sweet and an influence in feelings such as pleasure and lack of pain. If you took a ton your body might feel pretty good, but the damage done by taking a lot of Ibuprofen or Naproxen is deffinatly not worth it and you'll probably just end up with a terrible stomach ache.

Opiates such as morphine or hydrocodone however, are a completely different story Hope that helps, and you probably shouldn't take too seriously to the people you hear these things from.
